The idea
A grindstone doesn't do the work. It makes the work better.
The Grind is built on a simple belief: good work needs a good room. Quiet when you need to focus, social when you want it, and equipped with the things a home office never quite gets right — a real desk, a real monitor, a door you can close, and coffee worth drinking.
It's a place for the Central Coast's remote workers, founders, consultants and creatives to show up, put an edge on what they're doing, and go home at a reasonable hour.

The space
Two suites. Plenty of room to think.
Suite 211 is the open studio and lounge. Suite 212 holds the private offices, conference room and kitchenette. Just over 2,100 square feet in all, with windows on two sides, daylight all day, and a second-floor perch over 13th and Grand.
The studio
Twelve sit-stand workstations, each with a 27" monitor and a USB-C dock, arranged for quiet focus. Library rules in the room; calls go in the booths.
Private offices
Three furnished, lockable offices for one to four people, with a door that closes and a name on it. Keycard access around the clock.
Conference room
Seats eight around a real table, with a 120" display, conference camera and a whiteboard wall. Bookable by the hour for members and non-members.

The Grind is on the second floor of Plaza Pacifica, the two-story office building at the corner of South 13th Street and Grand Avenue. Suites 211 and 212 open off the exterior walkway at the top of the stairs. There's free parking in the lot out front and a dozen lunch options within a short walk. The Grover Beach Amtrak station is four blocks away; Highway 101 is two minutes.

FAQ
Good questions.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No. All memberships are month to month. Give notice by the 15th and your membership ends at the end of the month. Day passes never expire.
Can I take calls at my desk?
Brief ones, quietly. Longer calls and all video meetings happen in a phone booth or the conference room. It's the one rule that keeps the studio worth paying for.
Can I bring a guest?
Dedicated Desk and Private Office members receive guest passes each month. Otherwise, guests can pick up a day pass or join you in the conference room on your included hours.
Can I use the address for my business?
Yes, on the Dedicated, Private Office and Virtual plans. We accept mail and packages during staffed hours and notify you by text.
Do you offer team or nonprofit rates?
We do. Get in touch with the size of your team or a note about your organization and we'll put something together.
What about parking?
Free surface parking in the lot out front, plus bike racks at the entrance.
